fighting for a cure and building a community for those affected by HBSL
Supporting research and families.
Mac Pac Foundation strives to support families and individuals affected by HBSL as well as supporting research and treatment efforts.
We strive to contribute to research, provide equipment, offer resources for therapeutic activities, and organize community events for those affected by HBSL.
What is HBSL?
Hypomyelination with brainstem and spinal cord involvement and leg spasticity (HBSL) is a rare neurological disease in the leukodystrophy family.
Support for families
We strive to support families in the endeavor of receiving necessary medical equipment and treatment.
Research
Research for HBSL is being lead by Dr. Vanderver, Dr. van der Knapp, and Dr. Taft.
“We believe wholeheartedly that community and open discussion are at the core of finding a cure for HBSL.”
